How did we convert a hard working events horse trailer into a beautiful elegant mobile bar?
Once we got the trailer home and settled in Dan got straight to work. Since her previous family had retired she had a lot of time off, meaning she needed a lot of TLC to get her back into work. The process was long with Dan putting in hours wherever he could in between work and family life. We had parked the trailer up in my thoroughbreds field, we didn’t want to take her completely away from the life she knew. Moss, my thoroughbred was very intrigued and I am certain he was incredibly nervous at the thought that he was being bought back into work, he needed not to worry he was very safe in his retirement.
We had a completely blank canvas the trailer was a complete shell, so a good groom of the remaining coat and we (Dan) were ready to get going.
Now we were ready to go, what colour scheme were we going with? A colour that is versatile and stood out to create a wonderful talking point at any event. There were many colours thrown around and onto the trailer until we both had that feeling of butterflies in our stomachs with the muted olive. From then everything else started flowing well, we got the base coat on the walls inside and ideas were flying around all over the place.
Moss enjoyed getting involved, he would join us for lunch at the weekends and cast an eye over what we were up to. Our weekends were now fully booked for the foreseeable.
We decided that having two bars was the best for us to work well, we didn’t want people having to wait long for bar service and with two bars we could work a bar each and meet in the middle.
11 months on and we had our first event, a unicorn themed birthday party! I was in my element. The trailer was ready to go and we were an up and running events supplier. Within 18 months Dan had come up with a business idea and we had made it happen, now to get out and make people smile with our new events bar.
The Prosecco Palace has blossomed beautifully as we have continued the grooming and had new ideas. She is now fully dressed and makes for a wonderful talking point to every event.

Where did the Prosecco Palace start?
Well once Dan finally put a ring on it and we started looking at wedding venues and wedding suppliers, we firstly noticed that as soon as you mention the word wedding the price automatically increases. The more we looked at wedding themes, Dan realised that this was an area that we would work well in and came up with the idea of our own mobile bar service. We both enjoy a glass of wine and I am a huge prosecco fan.
I am very much a people person/pleaser and Dan has great creativity. What better way to spend time with people and bring a beautiful unique touch to their big day? All without a price increase because you are celebrating your wedding day.
It was obvious to us both that a horse box bar was the way for us to go, I have ridden since the age of 11 and up until 18 months ago owned my own gorgeous thoroughbred that I was lucky to have in my life for 11 years. A mobile horse trailer bar was definitely the way to go.
So the search began, we looked at a number of rice trailers over the coming months but for all sorts of different reasons the right trailer never came up. We then found a very tired, very worn out looking trailer in Ashford, Kent. We went to look at it and fell in love. Dan had some great ideas for the conversion and it was clear to us that the trailer had amazing character and stories to tell.
It had been used to take very good care of a stunning warm blood horse whilst travelling back and forth to British eventing events all the way through until his retirement. He was always very well placed! We knew this was the trailer for us.
So we headed home to Essex with the new addition to our family in tow.
